Just got into doing this and was wondering is that a recycled piece of wood Can you use that?
It’s from a 8/4 hickory board. By recycled do you mean an old handle?
Could I use flax seeds oil to oil a hickory handle?
Yes. Linseed oil and flaxseed oil are the same. I believe just called different names in different regions.

I would NEVER use that. I would just have it laying on my coffee table and pick it up every now and then😂

The copper ferrule in the handle is neat looking but a bad idea in practice. As the handle wears the metal will stand proud and tear up your hands... ask me how I know...
It was requested by the customer. It’s copper so it’s easy enough to sand down and keep up with.
Every time I see one of these videos now,I expect to hear "fetch the treasury!"

My man you are amazing with a draw knife, can you do a video on how you keep it sharp? I can never get the ones I have to cut like that?!? Or they just don’t retain an edge?
I’ll try to put something up. I think I’ve covered it on instagram before but this is probably an easier search for me to discuss it. I am not a drawknife expert by any means but happy to share the knowledge I have. If it’s not keeping the edge that could be another problem of the hardening not being good. Give me a couple weeks and I’ll get a video up. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
